New Orleans Part I
Here come the recaps!
We left Lafayette around 11:30 on Friday morning. We made our way down the lovely I-10 eastbound to Baton Rouge via the Atchafalaya Basin for lunch!
We stopped at J. Alexander’s for lunch. So good! I had a big salad with fried chicken strips, AVOCADO (my new fave food!), blue cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers! And a bottle of Blue Moon
Then it was back on the road, to New Orleans!
Then we went to the airport to pick up my cousin, Andrew!
Next we made our way to the French Quarter for some cafe au lait, chocolate milk, and beignets at Cafe Du Monde!
DELICIOUSNESS!
We next walked around the beautiful Jackson Square
and went into St. Louis Cathedral for a few minutes! Didn’t stay long, as the church was closing for a wedding! YAY!
Then we made our way over to our hotel! What a beautiful place!
We got settled into the hotel, relaxed a little bit, and then we made our way down the street for some delicious dinner!
We didn’t know it was mainly a wine bar at the time… but it was SO HONKIN GOOD!
We shared a few appetizers– shrimp and grits, proscuitto. For dinner i had a 6 oz filet mignon, with mashed potatoes and portabello mushrooms! D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. And 2 glasses of this FABULOUS glass of white wine, which i can’t remember the name of! I’m a HUGEEEE Riesling fan, and it was something along the lines of a Riesling
Phewww! Fun times! Stay tuned for New Orleans Part 2…
