Papa Red
I can’t believe it’s been 6 years. Where has time gone?!?
Papa Red it’s been 6 years since you’ve left us.
We had some good times and you taught me a lot– Six Flags, Coney Islanders, Summers spent in Midland and Tulsa, how to love and appreciate the game of football, learning about how the old field works, learning about where my family comes from, playing with your collection of Texaco and Chevron trucks, learning how to make home made ice cream, learning never to take the last Coke from the fridge, and always put the icemaker back on cubed, never being too loud when you were sleeping or napping, falling in love with John Wayne and Country Westerns, how to appreciate the good and the bad times for what they are.
I’m sure you would not be so happy though with me being such a HUGE LSU fan
I know how you loved your Oklahoma Sooners so much! And i thought it was funny it took you 3 quarters through the 2003 National Championship game when LSU played OU to figure out that Shay was rooting for LSU
And i thought it was kinda special / weird / odd how at Chelsea’s graduation you said you wouldn’t be there for Desi’s in December…. and we all wondered if you have some big plans for December going on!
I will never forget you. You’ll always be there with me in life, every step of the way. I know that you believe in me, and that you will always have my back, and are watching over me!
I will forever hate cancer and the fact that it took you from us. I will ALWAYS live strong and be an advocate for cancer awareness. I will always be an advocate for living the best life you can, with what you have!
Continue to watch over all of us!
Love and miss you dearly,
Brittio

Hi! Love this post even though it made me cry. 5.5 yrs since I lost my father to side effects of what essentially saved his life during his cancer battle. Holidays still suck but the memories keep us going xox
