4Be Authentic
35One of the themes that kept repeating itself from the Fitbloggin speakers was BE AUTHENTIC! BE YOU! BE REAL! We all have this unspoken desire to be loved, accepted, and wanted.
At Fitbloggin, there was this AHHHHMAZING unspoken acceptance. Everyone was accepted, there were no cliques. There was no separation. Everyone accepted everyone. We’re all at different parts of our journey. But we all know what each other is going through or starting to go through or has gone through. There was so much love this weekend it’s unreal. It was so exciting to see people freaking the crap out, and screaming and yelling and hugging. Yes i may or may not have been one of those people. But hey that’s me, i freak out, i get excited, i get happy and excited WAY to easily! But that’s authentic and i wouldn’t change that for ANYTHING in the world. It was so freaking exciting and amazing to meet people we’ve only talked to online before. It felt with most people like we’d been friends for so long.
The speakers talked about being you, being real, being authentic in our blogs. There’s no doubt i need to do more of that. I often have trouble with what comes up in my head and what actually comes out. I’ve been holding back sharing things i’ve wanted to share. No more of that. I’m putting myself out there– all of me. The good, the freaking fantastic, the bad, and the way ugly. I want to share my journey with each and every one of you. I would love to be able to change someone’s life, and help them to do the same.
I challenge you to be real with yourselves and your readers. Being real is the only way we’ll ever learn and grow.
I’m all about being real, even though, let’s be honest, it completely scares the crap out of me at times.
I want to live this life without abandon. I want to put my heart out there, and if it gets broken. THAT IS OKAY– because i’m out there living life, i’m not inside scared of what might happen! So let’s live life. Like they said in Love Actually, “Let’s go get the shit kicked out of us by LOVE.” <– dang it brain, way tangent. always brain always.
So what i wanted to say was: Be real, be you, be honest. The only person you can be is YOU! Expect A LOT of that from me from here on out =)
Fitbloggin recap
29This weekend was exactly what i needed. I came home with more love in my heart than i know what to do with! I am renewed and inspired and motivated to make changes one day at a time that i need and want to! I’m so thankful for this amazing community to support and encourage me in EVERYTHING that i’m going to be doing! So honored to have meet each and every one of you, and to call you my FRIENDS! Know i will be here for you always.
- For one of the first times in a while, i was able to just be me and just be in those moments. I wasn’t worrying about boys, relationships, moving to Austin, or finding a job. I didn’t think about looking for a job for 4 days! It was SUCH a great feeling!
- I got to meet some pretty amazing people. You have changed my life for the better and i can not thank you enough!
- I’ve learned that i’m not afraid to be real and authentic, and completely me!
- I’ve got so much to share. I’ve learned alot about myself this weekend, i’ve learned that i’ve got lots to do to grew and change and be who i’m meant to be!
- I can’t wait to be a prior fat girl
- I got to meet some of the big time bloggers! They’re totally amazing, hilarious, kind, loving, authentic, and REAL. LOVE them.
- I’ve made some great friends who are on the same journey as me. It’s so nice and comforting to have friends who are going through the same struggles as i am!
- I got to wear a tutu, and be embraced for my uniqueness!
- I love that bloggers know exactly how to take photos, and i don’t have to coach them in the chest and up photos!
Vlogs are my new favorite thing in blogging! Especially when done on a plane!

8Just a thought from the Intuitive Eating Panel at Fitbloggin! Many, many more thoughts to come later.
We need to not let the scale determine our happiness and worth. The scale DOES NOT determine who we are and how amazing we are.
Fitbloggin short recap
4Fitbloggin has been amazing, so far. I have doubt that it will continue to be. I’ve been walking, Zumba-ing, dancing, laughing, meeting new and amazing people, learning new things, and growing as a person and blogger.
Stay tuned for the next recap!
