weight watchers
well hello there!
21Well hello dear blog,
Why yes it’s been a while! Why yes i have missed you and have missed the blog love! Why yes i may have been avoiding you! Why yes i miss the accountability i get from the blog!!! Why yes i’ve been off the weight loss, healthy, exercising train / wagon whatever you may call it for the last few weeks!
Living in a new big city, with a new job, and with only a few friends is really quite difficult! I know this is a good decision though! Or that’s what i believe in my heart.
But my heart and brain have a major disconnect often.
Now that i have my own place, with my own kitchen, and my own fridge… i can get down to business! I’m so thankful to my sister and brother-in-law for letting me stay with them for 3.5 months– but it’s oh so wonderful to have my own place again!
Game plan:
1) Working out / exercising 3-5 days a week
2) Cooking and preparing meals for the week on Sundays
3) Weight Watchers meeting once a week
How are you dear friends?
What tips / ideas do you have for getting back on track and staying there?
What do you do when you get off track?
HELP!
12LIFE
Life in Austin is great! I’ve been making a few friends, but i need to get out there start going to different things and getting more involved! I went out with a friend from Louisiana, who now lives in Austin! Yay for Louisiana friends in Austin
We went downtown Saturday night to see Skyrocket! SO MUCH FUN! I love having good times, dancing, and singing loud to my favorite songs from the 60′s, 70′s, and 80′s!
SO MUCH FUN
I can’t believe that was only my FIRST time going out since living in Austin!!!
I had 4 observations from going out in Austin:
1) I LOVE girls nights out!
2) I need to wear more purple & gold and black & gold to combat all the burnt orange!
3) People watching is AWESOME in ATX!!!
4) Sketchy guys are alive and well tonight!
HEALTH/FITNESS
The first few weeks of my goals were great! I worked out 5-7 days, i prepared foods, i cooked a few meals, i packed my lunch for work!
But the last few weeks have been SO HARD! I’ve been really stressed out at work, and exhausted at the end of the day.
I’ve been excercising a few days of the week, but not as many as i should!!! I’ve been in a funk to say the least, and i’ve got a major case of the don’t wants!
BOOOOOO. I want to make these changes, i really do.
But DANGGGGG but the funk bug is here, and i need help getting rid of it!
Advice / tips for achieving goals and continuing to work hard on them?!
What do YOU do when you find that you’ve gotten in a rut, and what do you do to get out of said rut?!
Week 2
10My motto for this week, and for the rest of my life really is: TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME! Life can be so exhausting and overwhelming, that is all we can do. Work on today, do the best that i can do for today. THAT IS ALL one can do.
Plan is still going great.
-Getting it done at the gym.
- Went to my weight watchers meeting tonight. IT was great just what i needed
We talked about the daily healthy guidelines
- 2 tsps of healthy oil (olive, canola, sunflower, flax seed)
- 4-5 servings of fruits and veggies
- at LEAST 48 ounces of water—> I’m working on doing WAY MORE! (side note: Do you think they’d notice if i walked around wearing my camel bak?! ha ummm yes i think so!)
- whole grains often!
- lean protein 3-4 ounces/day
- dairy 2 servings
- multi-vitamin
Week 1
29I updated my progress page, so check it out!
The love and support you have shown for My Plan has been amazing and overwhelming, so thank you
1) I went to my Weight Watchers meeting on Tuesday at 6 pm after exercising, and i think that’ll be the meeting i stick with! I LOVED the leader, so enthusiastic and motivating! And there were 5 guys, yes you read that right, FIVE GUYS at the meeting! SO AWESOME! We talked about what are something of our favorite things to do that DO NOT involve food. Came up with great ideas– walking, reading, I didn’t say blogging nor did anyone else, but i know that’s one of mine! Getting involved with the community and being active, exercising, hobbies- playing golf, bowling, going to the park, photography. It was really cool to hear from different people. They pass around a weekly journal and tracker that one person has for the week– something i had never heard of. I’m going to get it soon. I HOPE! The scale wasn’t as scary as i thought it would be. It helped me to face the music that i need to seriously do something about my weight.
2) It’s official! I joined gold’s gym
I really do like it there!
3) I’m still working on finding a therapist! It make take a few tries, before i find one i really like and can stick with!
4) Exercise:
- Monday: 45 minutes– 15 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes walking
- Tuesday: 27 minutes biking, 13 minutes walking
- Wednesday and Thursday– no exercise
- Friday: 40 minutes– 30 minutes elliptical, walking, and biking combined, with 10 minutes of weights
- Saturday: Met with the trainer– did measurements and talked about goals, plan, and other things. Then did 15 minutes of elliptical, 15 minutes of walking
- Sunday: 15 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes walking
wwchat recap!
1Tonight during #wwchat, we finally revealed our secret!!! CHECK IT OUT
I love this fabulous idea that Colleen & I came up with! I’ve been able to get to know so many awesome people working on their health & doing Weight Watchers!
Tonight we talked about celebrating our successes, such a great topic!
Here’s my recap with tonight’s questions:
Weigh-In and Operation Beautiful
8I weighed-in this morning. I thought i was going to be late for my Weight Watchers meeting, but as life would have it– i got there just went the meeting was starting!
I got up on the scale, and my hard work and dedication to tracking this past week really showed off!
Starting weight: 288.0
Last weigh in: 279.6
Today: 278.0
Loss this week: -1.6
Total lost: -10!
After having a few weeks of gains, this was a great moment for me!
The meeting we talked about ways to reward ourselves for hard work and weight losses by not eating!
-Massage
-Pedicures & Manicures
-Writing letters to friends
-Reading a good book
-Taking a hot bath & relaxing
-Opening up those boxes of clothes that didn’t fit before and finding out that they now fit
-Going for a walk and feeling great about yourself!
It’s just as important to eat right, tracking our points, and exercising as it is to reward ourselves for our weight loss successes!
Also, having friends who support you and encourage you and help you out along the way is such a big deal! I’m so thankful for my twitter and blog friends; along with my fitblog, wwchat, and 7daychip peeps
Support is VITAL for weight loss!
———————————-
For a while now, i’ve been a huge lover and supporter of Operation Beautiful! Author and Founder of the movement, Caitlin Boyle, is an amazing & inspiring person, blogger, wife, friend, and athlete! She has motivated many of us with Operation Beautiful! I was introduced to the book by Katie Heddleston, and i knew that this book would do great things for me!
Katie was right! This book is amazing! Talks about loving ourselves, ending the negative fat-talk, and loving ourselves for who we are! What a great idea! If you are curious, please check out the Operation Beautiful website!
Today, i was going through blogs on my Google Reader, and came to Caitlin’s blog. I came across this awesome video by her friend Peter Hollens. It’s an amazing cover of Lady Gaga’s latest hit, “Born This Way.”
Here’s the deal: Peter and I need YOUR help. We’d love for this video to go ‘viral.’ Peter is trying to launch his music career, and I always appreciate an opportunity to spread the Operation Beautiful love.
If you think Peter’s video is a hit, please Facebook, Twitter, Digg, e-mail, and/or blog the video. Here’s a sample tweet with the video’s tinyURL if you’d like to copy and paste: “Check out this awesome #operationbeautiful Lady Gaga cover by @PeterHollens:http://tinyurl.com/6eq3qpg”
Thanks ya’ll! Spread the Operation Beautiful LOVE
XOXO!
Week 3
7Much better week this week! yayy! I lost what i had gained last week (2.2 pounds), and then i also lost 0.2 pound! Yes, even the tenths of a pound count! For a total of 2.4 pounds loss. Another huge thing, is that i lost weight during Thanksgiving week!!! I also got exercise on Thanksgiving day… that’s never happened! And this is definitely something i want to do every holiday and incorporate more exercise into my daily life!
week 1
4So if you didn’t know i decided to go back to Weight Watchers, and it’s been a great idea and much needed change! I’m able to eat fruits and pastas now, with moderation of course!
